BlackBerry messenger is without a doubt one of the most anticipated app for everyone. The leaked BBM app for Android and iOS received over a million activations, which forced BlackBerry to halt the entire cross platform BBM rollout process for a month. BlackBerry restarted the rollout of BBM for Android and iOS two days ago in in just a mere 24 hours, it received over 10 million downloads.
BBM quickly made it as one of the top ranking free apps in the Apple App Store, taking the number one slot in more than 75 countries. As for Google Play, BBM for Android also received very overwhelmingly positive reviews and earned 60,000 five-star reviews in the store.
Of course, over 10 million downloads doesn’t mean that there are as many active users, BlackBerry has changed the way things work, forcing people to queue up for their activation. If you are one of those who registered your interest for BBM for Android and iOS, you would be able to skip the queue and receive BBM immediately but if not. The app in both platforms is still in its initial stages for now like BBM Video, Voice and Channels, BlackBerry did mention that the team is still working hard on making BBM for Android and iPhone the same as BBM on its devices. Do you have BBM on your Android or iOS device yet?
