One of the most interesting things in the newly announced Apple iPhone 5S would definitely have to be its A7 processor that is built on 64-bit desktop architecture, making it the first 64-bit smartphone in the world. The processor can deliver up to 2x faster processing power and graphics performance, and guess what? Samsung just announced that they too are working on a 64-bit processor.
Reported by The Korea Times, Samsung’s mobile business chief Shin Jong-kyun said that the 64-bit processor will not be available immediately, but should be available in their next smartphones.
“Not in the shortest time. But yes, our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality.” — Shin Jong-kyun
Just days ago, Samsung announced that they have found a solution that allows their Exynos 5 Octa processor to have all eight cores running at once, bring in the Galaxy S5 rumors!
