Along with the new PlayStation Vita that is thinner, lighter and a longer battery life, Sony also took the curtains off something pretty interesting – a PlayStation Vita TV mini console that allows you to play PS Vita games on your TV and control them with PlayStation controllers.
But don’t be fooled by its tiny appearance, it may sound like a typical gaming console in a small package, it also offers additional services such as access to Sony’s Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited service, karaoke and more. On top of Sony’s apps, it also has Google Chromecast / Apple TV-alike services such as access to Twitter, Hulu, NicoNico Douga and other online media providers…in Japan at least.
The PS Vita TV measures at only 60mm x 100mm small with HDMI output, space for Vita memory card, a slot for Vita games, USB, Power and Ethernet ports. The PS Vita TV will be available in Japan in November for only 9,954 yen, approximately USD$100 for the device alone, or USD150 for a set – Vita TV, a controller and a storage card.
