With Apple rumoured to be holding a launch event on September 10, speculation is rife that the company will be announcing a lower cost iPhone 5 called the iPhone 5C. Indeed, the plastic back of the iPhone 5C has been leaked extensively over the past few weeks, from the initial Apple boxes bearing the iPhone 5C name to the colourful back covers that gave the “C” moniker.
But what about the iPhone 5S?
A new set of listings on Amazon by Spigen reveals that not only will Apple be selling the iPhone 5C, there will also be an iPhone 5S – quite possibly a refreshed iPhone 5 with minor bumps in specs. To top it off, the iPhone 5C cases and screen protectors will be in stock from September 20, while the iPhone 5S bumpers will be available from August 31. From the detailed information on the bumper, it appears that the iPhone 5S will be similar in dimension to the iPhone 5.
At this point, it is worth noting that such case listings has happened before with the iPhone 5 last year, with cases of all kinds and shapes announced months before the official iPhone 5 was launched – many of which turned out to be wildly inaccurate. Then again, this is Spigen and not any Chinese OEM, so there may a lot more to this than just a fake listing on Amazon.
