Now this is pretty intriguing. Nokia’s official blog has just released a teaser image that suggests its HERE suite of maps and navigation system may make its way into cars very soon. In addition, both Nokia and the official HERE Maps Twitter pages tweeted the same image above, with little else to go by.
The Conversations blog post was also extremely brief. Besides the image, the post revealed that an official announcement will be made via another blog post that will come up later today at 5pm, and ends with what appears to be a subtle reference to its HERE Drive navigation app.
But of course, the picture may prove to be the most telling indication that Nokia will be announcing an in-car entertainment system later today, with the HERE logo prominently appearing on a car’s ICE (in-car entertainment) system. While a full-blown roll-out is highly unlikely at this point, it will not be a surprise if Nokia announces its plans along with some big-name players in the automotive industry in tow.
