Now that Samsung has practically a device for every single segment of the market, what is their next target? Children of course. While many parents are against the idea of giving young children smartphones or tablets and exposing them to electronics at young age, Samsung went ahead and developed a 7” tablet just for kids.
The device will ship with top ranked kid’s apps and a brand kew Kid’s Store aimed at driving the educational possibilities of technology for children. Preloaded content includes educational, games, entertainment and e-book apps. As with many kids gadgets, it also has a set of parental tools, allowing parents to set specific time periods for use.
Specifications wise, the 7” tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM on board. It has a 3MP rear camera coupled with a 1.3MP front shooter. It also has optional kids-friend accessories such as a grip, multi stand, as well as a C Pen stylus. Unfortunately, or fortunately for some parents, the Korean manufacturer only announced that the tablet will be released in U.S., U.K., Europe, China and Africa. No words have been mention with regards to other region.
Any parents here willing to get a tablet that is built for children for your kids?
