A database document from an Indian logistics website has revealed that Samsung is internally testing three different screen sizes for its latest Galaxy Note phablet. According to Zauba, the Korean company is testing the Galaxy Note III – with each database entry marked as “for testing and evaluation and not for sale” – with screen sizes of 5.5, 5.7 and 6 inches.
It is interesting to note that the dates when the units were added to the database – between 15 and 26th July – are pretty close to the expected September launch timeframe for the Galaxy Note III. A closer look at the database also reveals that Samsung shipped a lot more of the 5.5-inch variant compared to the other two (92 units over a combined 8 for the 5.7- and 6-inch devices) which may suggest that Samsung will, in all likelihood, retain the 5.5-inch model for the Galaxy Note III. Perhaps the higher-ups at Samsung are even considering a Galaxy S4-style family of devices.
With the September launch timeframe looming ever closer, we can expect to hear more about the Galaxy Note III as the rumour mills go into overdrive.
