Several Sony Centres in the Klang Valley have been spotted retailing the new Sony Xperia Z Ultra over the past two days. As found by several forum members, the KLCC Sony Centre begun selling Sony’s latest giant smartphone as early as two days back at a retail price of RM2299. As of today, several other Sony Centres, such as the ones in the Gardens, Ikano, The Curve, and 1 Utama have begun retailing the device, with demo units also available.

An interesting point to note is the fact that the Xperia Z Ultra available now is the HSPA+ model and not the LTE variant, despite both models sporting essentially similar specs. Sony Malaysia’s official website also did not mention LTE on its listing for the Xperia Z Ultra. Further reading on the forum revealed that the LTE model may make its way in September, as Sony is conducting LTE testing with local telcos for the device.
With its local launch penciled in for August 1, it is expected that stocks will be more widely available then, as most of the Sony Centres only had limited stocks for the company’s powerful phablet.
