Strong 6.1 earthquake hits Bireun, Northern Sumatera. Tremors felts in parts of Malaysia

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake was reported at 3.37pm local time with an epicenter at the Bireun provice in Northern Sumatera. There are widespread reports of tremors felt across the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia from Penang to Putrajaya. No Tsunami alert has been issued at this point in time.
