It looks like the arrival of Instagram video last week took quite a hit on Twitter’s Vine, according to Topsy, who has access to the Twitter’s data, the number of shared Vine links declined from almost 2.5 million on 19 June, to just over 1.5 million on 20 June, the date where Instagram Video made its debut. The irony of it all is just weeks before that, Vine’s shares has been reported to have surpassed Instagram.
According to reports, Vine’s links on twitter has declined to 900,000 per day as of yesterday, which is about 70% lesser than their peak earlier this month. Since the launch of Instagram video, Vine has been trying to release updates to attract its users back, the latest update has been released today with the support for front facing camera, but will that be enough to win back the heart of users?
As for the links shared on Instagram, the trend went up a little but the difference isn’t as tremendous as the drop Vine has been facing.
