Disappointed that Sony did not show off the rumored camera phone with the codename “Honami” in its recent launch in Shanghai, China? Don’t be, according to rumors, Sony will be hosting another event on 4 July and hopefully then, they will finally take the curtains off their camera phone that is supposed to pack some slick camera capabilities under its smartphone hood.
Pictures of the Sony i1 Honami has recently made its way to the internet and like most leaked images, it’s blurry but still clear enough to show off a sexy and slim device that follows Sony Xperia’s latest design cue found on the Xperia Z, ZL, Tablet Z and even the Z Ultra they recently announced. If this is true, then this is definitely much better looking than its competitors, the Galaxy S4 Zoom and rumored Nokia EOS though, I can’t help but feel skeptical about what they can fit under that slim profile.
The leaked images also suggest that the Honami might be made out of aluminum instead of glass fibre on the Xperia Z. It has a 3.5mm earphone jack at the top, a microSD slot at the side and a dedicated camera button.
Other rumors about the Honami includes a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 20MP rear camera with Exmor RS sensor, G Lens, Cybershot, Dual LED and Xenon flash, Mobile BIONZ Image processor, and interchangeable lens. If all these are true, the specifications and design, which camera phone will you pick, the Honami, Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom or Nokia EOS?
