While Computex 2013 will only officially begins tomorrow but things are already heating up over here in Taipei as you can see from our Day 0 round-up. We were still airborne when all these unveiling events took place yesterday but fortunately, we managed to arrive in the city before Taipei World Trade Centre (one of the main venue for Computex) closes its door for the day.
So, here’s something just to kick start our on-ground coverage from Taipei which starts later today: a quick look at TWTC and surrounding areas while many crew members are busy preparing for one of the biggest annual tech show in the world. Click on the Read More link to see further.
Located across the road from Taipei 101, the Taipei World Trade Center has been the home to Computex since the venue is open in 1986.
Here’s the view of TWTC Hall 1, with crew members still busy setting up booths.
One interesting fact about Computex’s press pass: it comes with 2-days free access to Taipei Metro (MRT) system right on the pass itself – think of it just like our Touch’n’Go card. The free MRT access proved to be rather helpful since TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall (the other main venue of Computex 2013) is located on different side of the town and accessible directly via MRT.
A closer look at the towering Taipei 101, who was the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2010.
Also located next to Taipei 101 is the Hall 3 of TWTC.
The distinct architecture of TWTC Hall 1 is rather apparent.
By now, you should already aware that Intel is officially launching its new Haswell processors at Computex 2013. Hence, the huge banners.
While I’ve no idea what this advert is actually about apart from that it is related to Yahoo, this sort of advert is not something that you can see often back in Malaysia.
If there is another thing that are closely associated to Taiwan apart from tech, that would be scooters. Plenty of them around Taipei.
If scooters are not your thing, there’s always the YouBike.
The activities at Computex are not limited to TWTC Halls and Nangang Exhibition Hall. Some of them happened in various venues around Taipei including the Grand Hyatt Taipei which located next to TWTC.
Stay tuned and look forward to see more from the show floor of Computex 2013 all the way in Taipei, Taiwan!
