After Google’s announcement that the Samsung Galaxy S4 was going to be available in Nexus flavours, many were unimpressed, hoping instead for a brand new phone with a different design. Well, here’s the next best thing; It’s not a brand new phone, nor is it a new design but in my opinion it’s a much better candidate for the Nexus experience. HTC have announced that come June 26th, the highly acclaimed HTC One will be available with the full Nexus experience. Coming in priced at USD599 the Nexus Edition will be the 32GB version of the phone, SIM and Bootloader unlocked but unfortunately not supporting Malaysia’s LTE band. The Nexus HTC One will debut in the US following suit with other countries in the future. So if you’ve been pining for one of these great devices and are not too fussed about LTE or Sense 5, find a friend in the US and get yourself one.
In all honesty, part of the reason I liked the HTC One was the improvements brought about by the improved Sense 5 UI as well as some of the features that HTC added. It’s most likely that the Nexus version will not contain the camera features like Zoe or things like Blinkfeed on it. I for one liked these features and for that reason I’d stick to the HTC version but for the purist at heart who wants the true vanilla Android 4.2.2 experience, this may just be the phone for you!
HTC will still continue to offer the 64GB developer version as well as the unlocked bootloader version from their own store
