HTC has announced the new Desire 600, a new addition to its Desire range of mid-range smartphones. Featuring a quad-core processor and all the goodies that the new Sense 5 UI has to offer, the new HTC Desire 600 is certainly an interesting prospect for those looking for a smartphone with plenty of bang for the buck.
The HTC Desire 600 is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Inside, there’s also 8GB of built-in storage – but there is no option to expand it via microSD cards. In addition, the Android 4.1.2-running Desire 600 has a 4.5-inch Super LCD 2 display with a 540 x 960 resolution. Also, the Desire 600 features an 8MP rear camera and 1.6MP front-facing module.
A unique feature on the dual-SIM Desire 600 is its ability to keep both SIM cards active at all times, instead of switching between them when needed. Also, while there is no HTC Zoe on this device, the Desire 600 has a feature called HTC Video Highlights that produces 30-second show reels created from images taken from the camera. With the new Sense 5 UI, the HTC Desire 600 trickles down the premium features on the flagship HTC One smartphone such as BlinkFeed screen, as well as the built-in amplifiers and the BoomSound dual-speaker array – in addition to the customary Beats Audio enhancement software.
While pricing details are yet to be confirmed, the new HTC Desire 600 dual-SIM smartphone is expected to roll out globally in stages from early June.
