Does the company name TCL sound familiar to you? TCL is the Chinese multinational company which owns the Alcatel brand, who showed off plenty of new devices at CES 2013, as well as in Malaysia recently where the company plans to launch as many as 25 new devices this year. Aside from the mobile industry, it is the world’s sixth-largest producer of televisions, and the 25th-largest producer of consumer electronics.
The company has just announced what quite a coup: a product placement deal with what will surely be one of the hottest movies this year – Iron Man 3, which is set for a worldwide May 3 release. The deal will see all of Tony Stark’s electronic devices coming from the Chinese company, from his motion panel device to mobile phones. TCL believes that the deal will be “very useful” in promoting the TCL brand to the US and China markets.
Interestingly, this deal isn’t the first for the Chinese company. TCL has previous product placement deals for “The Avengers”, “The Dark Knight Rises” as well as “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”.
