As part of the ongoing Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) – you can stream it live here – in Paris, the team behind the latest Counter-Strike game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (or CS:GO for short) has a treat for all you FPS addicts who have not bought the game: CS:GO will be free to play this weekend.
In addition, those who wish to purchase the game from Steam will be in for a surprise as well: the game is now $9.99 (RRP: $14.99) over the weekend, in addition to being free to play.
For those who own the game, the team has mentioned that the Competitive Mode will stay…competitive, as only Free Weekend players (as they will now be known) in matching skill groups are able to play against ranked players.
