Waze has just released an update to the popular crowdsourcing navigation app. Available immediately for both Android and iOS (for free, mind you), the app brings about greater social interaction, especially among friends.
A new concept in this update makes Waze aware of friends who are driving to a similar destination, and tracks them in real time. It can also detect where your friends parked their cars, and also share your driving conditions with them.
In addition, Waze now has a private messaging feature, as well as a pick-up request function where you ping your location to another friend on Waze, where they then have the option to re-route to your location. Other than that, there is also a “go invisible” feature if you do not wish to be tracked. Finally, Waze now also allows users to sign in with their Facebook account.
