You can now head on to the nearest BMW dealership and see the real thing for yourself because BMW recently announced the arrival of its newest motoring masterpiece to Malaysia customers.

First unveiled to the world in June 2012, the second generation BMW M6 Coupé is a car that exudes sophistication and top end performance through a combination of dynamic appearance, prodigious power delivery, unmatched handling precision and luxury appeal. The conceptual harmony characteristic of M Automobiles is also fully reflected in the body structure of the new BMW M6 Coupé.

Featuring a dynamically contoured, lightweight roof made from Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) which is a unique feature in the segment, BMW engineers were able to reduce overall weight and lower the cars centre of gravity for increased agility. BMW engineers also created a stylish contoured centre line design which improves air flow, while also ensuring an unmistakeably unique look. The car’s sports character is further defined with the addition of numerous M-specific design features such as the large air inlets which assist in cooling down its powerful V8 engine, flared wheel arches which give the car an increase of 30 mm in width, aerodynamically optimised side sills, M exterior mirrors, and the hallmark quad tailpipes which are iconic to the M brand. Meanwhile, a redesigned BMW M kidney grille integrating the M6 logo as well as Adaptive LED Headlights with highly distinctive cut-off light rings gives the new BMW M6 Coupé a striking front profile.
Moving into the car’s interior, the new BMW M6 Coupé masterfully combines the hallmarks of a sports car cockpit together with premium quality luxury ambiance. The driver will enjoy a great view of the stylish M- specific circular instrument dials with red indicator needles, and white light illumination. They will also be able to rest their hands on an exclusive M leather steering wheel which is ergonomically optimized for dynamic driving and features a dual-spoke design.
It is of course the new BMW M6 Coupé’s power-plant which brings this exceptional cars sports dynamics to life and BMW customers will be awestruck by the power delivery of the hi-revving BMW V8. The 4.4 litre engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology which includes two TwinScroll turbochargers, a single exhaust manifold serving all cylinder banks, High Precision Injection direct injection, VALVETRONIC and Double-VANOS. The BMW M6 Coupé delivers a whopping 412 kW/560 hp and 680 Nm of Torque, assuring that customers will not only enjoy the most powerful, but also the most technologically advanced engine in its category.
The new BMW M6 Coupé is one of the most spectacular vehicles to come out of the BMW M stable, achieving the 0-100 km/h sprint in an astounding 4.2 seconds. Despite the car’s impressive performance capabilities, the BMW M6 Coupé continues to be a true BMW with efficiency that has become the envy of its immediate competitors.
Despite a 10 per cent increase in maximum power and 30 per cent increase in maximum torque compared to its predecessor, the new BMW M6 Coupé has an average EU cycle fuel consumption level of 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres. This is a 30 per cent improvement from the previous generation and is also the only vehicle in its segment to marry in an excess of 500 hp power delivery with less than 10 litres per 100 kilometres mileage.
Motor racing technology, a refined driving experience
As any BMW fan can attest, an M car is incomplete without comprehensive attention given to vehicles’ powertrain and chassis, which is tested out on the most demanding race track in the world, the Nürburgring North Loop. In that regard, the new BMW M6 Coupé does not disappoint with particular consideration given to recreating the BMW M GmbH racing experience. Drivers experience high-performance technology with every press of the accelerator, steering movement and braking manoeuvre.
Featuring a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic, the new BMW M6 Coupé ensures exceptionally fast gearshifts without any loss of power. In addition with Drivelogic, BMW customers can further benefit from the Launch Control function that provides maximum acceleration from a standing start, as well as the Low Speed Assistance that enhances driving comfort in stop-and-go traffic situations.
With BMW’s new Active M Differentials, which is an electronically controlled multi-plate limited-slip differential that regulates power distribution between right and left rear wheels, a precise analysis of the new BMW M6 Coupé’s current driving situation is constantly monitored for lightning-fast responses, allowing for optimum traction for every situation. The new Active M Differentials thus optimises driving stability on slippery surfaces, tight bends, when accelerating hard out of a bend or even when snapping off the throttle.
In addition, with Dynamic Damper Control, BMW customers are able to choose between COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT + settings on the new BMW M6 Coupé’s electronically controlled dampers to suit every driving situation or preference. The car further sports M carbon ceramic brakes with calipers featuring six pistons at the front and a matte gold finish with an M logo. Manufactured from an extremely durable and heat-resistant carbon-ceramics compound, the brakes are considerably more lightweight and wear-resistant than standard components, promising optimized effectiveness and safety while also adding to the new BMW M6 Coupé’s stunning visual appeal.
The new BMW M6 Coupé further provides comprehensive opportunities for drivers to customise its powertrain and chassis systems. Engine responses, Drivelogic, DSC mode, damper settings and steering characteristics can all be adjusted individually at the touch of a button. In addition, the cars iDrive menu allows drivers to customise settings for the cars M-Specific Head Up Display. Two M Drive buttons on the steering wheel lets the driver save and access their preferred set-up at any time they want, be it for relaxed and comfortable cruising or for optimised sports dynamics. The exclusive character of the BMW M6 Coupé is further enhanced with a range of products from the comprehensive BMW ConnectedDrive range of driver assist systems, BMW Apps, BMW Live as well as online connectivity via a Bluetooth enabled personal smart device.

The new BMW M6 Coupé will be available for purchase at BMW dealerships throughout Malaysia from 17th November. Available in exterior colours of Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue, Singapore Grey, Havanna, Sakhir Orange, Silverstone, San Marino Blue and Space Grey and a choice of either extended leather trim or full leather Merino Silverstone, Sakhir Orange or Merino Black for the interior, the retail price (on the road, without insurance) for the new BMW M6 Coupé is RM 988,800.
