Like it or not, it looks like 5” phones are here to take over the world, of course, why settle for something small when you can have a larger display that shows you more of everything? We’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy Note II, LG has its ownOptimus Vu, HTC announced its 5” HTC Droid DNA not too long ago, both Sharp and Oppo also showed off their phablet and now, it’s Lenovo’s turn to hop into the bandwagon.
Recently spotted on Sino Weibo are three screenshots showing off Lenovo’s Android UX in 1080p Full HD resolution. The pictures have been removed of course, but according to sources from Engadget, the device should measure between 4.5” to 5.5” and since 1080p resolution is only possible on 5” size right now, it makes perfect sense. Also, since Lenovo phones are only available in the China market, it will sport a dual-SIM connectivity – the screenshot shows that it’s connected to China Telecom’s CDMA2000 network and China Mobile’s 2G network simultaneously.
I’m not quite sure about 5” for other phone manufacturers. The only thing making Samsung successful in its Note devices is the S Pen and a suite of apps catered for the company’s very own stylus. Is a fantastic 1080p resolution alone enough to attract you to buy a phone too large for your pockets?
