Now that we know that the next Nexus phone is probably going to be manufactured by LG, what exactly is the Galaxy Nexus 2 device we saw earlier on a screenshot or the i9260 we’ve been seeing? Turns out, it’s actually Galaxy Premier, an upper-mid-range Android device from Samsung.
According to a German Site, Galaxy Premier is a 4.65” device running on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with an 8MP rear camera accompanied with a 2MP shooter at the front. Software wise, it should be running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box with TouchWiz interface. As for the design, according to leaked images, it should take design queue from none other than the Galaxy S III except that it has less curvy edges and looks more like the Galaxy Nexus with a physical home button.
The price of the device should be around USD$620, less than the Galaxy S III and slightly more than the rumored price for the Galaxy S III mini. Is it just me or is the Galaxy Premier totally unnecessary especially at the price of approximately RM1,900? For your information, the retail price of the Galaxy S III has recently taken a dip to RM1,999; I’d rather fork out extra RM100 for a much better device.
