Earlier this morning was sure an eventful one from Apple, on top of introducing a brand new iPad, the iPad mini, a new 13” Mac Book Pro with Retina display, new iMac that we’re all drooling for, the Cupertino company also announced an update to the Mac mini. Yes, the iPad mini wasn’t the only “mini” featured in Apple’s announcement.
Packed with the third generation dual-core Intel Core i5 and quad-core Intel Core i7 processors, the new Mac Mini are twice as fast and have integrated graphics that are up to 65% faster than before. On top of the new processors and Intel HD Graphics 4000, the new Mac Mini comes with 4GB of memory, up to 2TB of HDD space and runs on OS X Mountain Lion, as well as an option to select the Server version that comes with OS X Server. Retailing at RM1,899, the entry-level unit is powered by a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 500GB of storage space. The 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 unit has two different settings – RM2,499 for 1TB HDD and OS X Mountain Lion and RM3,099 for the OS X Server model with two 1TB hard drives.
