Remember way back when we got to play with Livescribe’s magical pen and paper that puts technology into your boring old pen and paper? Livescribe is now back again, taking things to a whole new level and makes writing with a pen and paper cool again with the new Sky Wi-Fi smartpen. As you can tell from the name, the new Sky smartpen now has Wi-Fi connectivity and on top of being able to wirelessly sync all your notes and audio clips to the cloud, it can now digitize and sync notes across iOS and Android devices so you can have immediate access to your notes and audio files on your smartphone and tablets.
Just a quick recall, Livescribe’s Smartpen can record down audio and notes and replay them back to you. Relying on tiny black dots on special papers from the company, you can tap anywhere on the paper using the special pen equipped with a camera, and it will play back the audio in that particular section. Livescribe then released an update for its original smartpen that allows you to share notes via pencasts and access them through Evernote and even social network accounts.
Now, Livescribe has taken things to a whole new level with Wi-Fi connectivity. Making use of the cloud, the notes and audio files taken will be digitized so it can be accessed using other iOS or Android devices. The best part is, you can access these content the way you would on the smartpen and paper, and on top of that, you can even watch how you write the note along with the corresponding audio file.
