Feeling sad and unloved because you don’t have Siri on your iPhone 4 and iPad 2? Don’t worry because Google’s Voice Search feature is now available for all iOS devices, allowing you to communicate with your device using only your voice. Unfortunately, unlike Siri that has a bit of a personality and jokes with you, Google’s Voice Search will only show you search results for whatever you ask for be it a marriage proposal or when you ask it the meaning of life.
Google Voice Search is nothing new of course, it has been on the Android platform for quite some time now. The only thing I’m excited about is it can show you local places and directions within Malaysia, which is impossible with Siri. However, since there isn’t a Google Maps app anymore, you’ll be forced to use the browser version, which tends to lag a little, especially when the traffic layer is on.
