If you read our review of the HP Envy Spectre XT recently, you’ll know that we love the design that HP has taken with the new Envy line of Ultrabooks and Sleekbooks. Well, here’s more good news: it looks like the distinct design ethos is here to stay with the new Envy M4 thin and light notebook.
The 14-inch Envy M4 is the smaller sibling to the larger 15-inch Envy M6, launched earlier this year. While not an Ultrabook, it is still pretty thin for a notebook, and it packs an optical disk drive as well. What’s more, like the Envy M6, it also has a subwoofer with Beats Audio enhancement software.
Also, the Envy M4 will ship with Intel Core i3 or i5 processors, up to 8GB of RAM and also a choice of solid or hard disk drives. It also retains the aluminium build that we liked in the Spectre XT. Unfortunately, the screen resolution is capped at 1366×768, which is rather disappointing given the $900 starting price. The HP Envy M4 will be on sale in the US starting from October 26.
