Activision is fast outdoing themselves with their limited edition packs for their Call of Duty titles. Starting out with the cool night vision goggles bundled in with the CoD: Modern Warfare’s “Prestige Edition” bundle, they then included a remote control spy car which transmits video shot from the car’s built-in camera.
This time, though, Activision has taken it to the next level. Dubbed the “Care Package”, this limited edition set comes in a box modelled right out of the in-game care package that drops from support helicopters. Inside, Activision also bundled in the games original soundtrack, as well as a steel art book and unique “Challenge” coins with a unique code etched on them that unlocks DLCs.
But of course, the main attraction for the “Care Package” is…a MQ-27 remote-controlled Dragonfire drone. Yes, you read that right. A drone. As you can see from the video, it isn’t life-sized like the ones that appear in the game, unfortunately. We’re not too sure about what else it can do besides hovering in mid-air looking superbly awesome (or if the turret guns work), though, unlike the Parrot AR Drone 2.0 that we had in our office recently.
In addition to the “Care Package”, Activision also announced the “Hardened Edition” *insert innuendo here* which packs all the same goodies found in the “Care Package” minus the drone (and the box).
The two bundles is now available for pre-order at $180 (“Care Package”) and $80 (“Hardened Edition”) ahead of its November 13 launch.
