ASUS has today announced its range of new networking products for the Malaysian market, with the top-of-the-line product being the next-gen RT-AC66U router. In addition, ASUS also announced the arrival of its new cloud storage solution.
According to ASUS, the ASUS RT-AC66U Gigabit wireless dual-band router is one of the first in the world to offer Broadcom’s 5G WiFi, combining 2.4GHz/5GHz bands for a total 1.75Gbps bandwidth. Its USB integration allows it to easily act as a multi-role device with server capabilities.
On the other hand, ASUS AiCloud (pronounced ay-eye-cloud, before any lawsuits start flying ASUS’ way) is the company’s cloud storage solution which offers unlimited storage and increased privacy. One feature of AiCloud is ASUS Cloud Disk which provides remote access to multimedia content held on any storage device connected to the RT-AC66U’s USB port, which means users have access to their own media server on everything from Android or iOS-based devices to notebooks.
Also, ASUS Smart Access is another AiCloud feature which allows any networked computer to be incorporated into a personal cloud for selective file sharing over the Internet, using any compatible Windows, Mac and Linux device. Compatible devices can even be woken from sleep by remote control, which means there is no need to waste energy by leaving computers running 24/7.
