EA is certainly making creative use of voice commands with regards to its Kinect version for the upcoming Dead Space 3. According to executive producer Steve Papoutsis, Dead Space 3 for Kinect will pick up certain well-timed use of colourful language at specific sequences in the game, and the game will react accordingly. Papoutsis adds that there are “some commands that people will need to figure out,” and notes that gesture support will not be implemented – nope, no legitimate excuse for the “instinctive” frustrated flicking of the finger to the TV when you’re killed.
Dead Space 3 will be the latest game in the EA library that will feature voice commands, with notable members of the club including Mass Effect 3 as well as FIFA 13. The survival-horror game will be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox on February 5 of next year.
