What is this mysterious GT-N5100 device that has been making an appearance here and there as of late? Could it really be the rumored 7” Galaxy Note device from Samsung? Earlier this month, the mysterious device that takes on the “N” model number (which represents a Galaxy Note device – the Note II is GT-N7100 and Note 10.1 is GT-N8000) appeared in NenaMark2 and now, the model number has also popped up in GLBenchmark.
According to the results, the device, rumored to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, will be powered by a 1.6GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 processor with a display resplution of 1280 x 800 and runs on the latest Android version 4.1.2. The resolution matches the display used on Google Nexus 7 with a pixel density of 216ppi.
But the question I have is, will Samsung really make a 7” Note device? The Galaxy Note III has already been rumored with a 6.3” display so will a 7” device (possibly 7.7”) be redundant? Again, it all boils down to, why GT-N5100 when the 5.5” Galaxy Note II comes with a higher model number GT-N7100?
