A recent report from Deadline suggests that a TV series is currently in development which will be based on EA’s popular Battlefield: Bad Company games. Interestingly, it will be an hour-long action comedy series, which means it should retain the franchise’s unique sense of humour which blended into its gameplay.
While movie spin-offs based on games have mostly been touch-and-go, TV series based on games is pretty rare, and pretty much never mainstream. However, this might change with the new Bad Company-inspired series. The production company involved (Happy Madison) is run by Adam Sandler, and he has enlisted the executive producer of hit espionage series Alias, John Eisendrath at the helm alongside the Battlefield: Bad Company designer, Patrick Bach and EA Entertainment’s Vice President, Pat O’Brien.
The series will comprise of the same four main characters from the game, and will loosely follow the original storyline. There are no details as yet to how many seasons the series will be in production, though.
