Sure, there are various office apps for mobile devices that can help get you basic tasks done such as writing a text document or playing around with a spreadsheet, but if you’re all used to Microsoft Office and all it has to offer, good news because it looks like Word and Excel app for iOS might be on its way.
On the French Microsoft support website, there were references pointing to “Excel for iPad”, “Power Point for iPad” and “Office Mobile for iPhone”. Microsoft was previously rumored to be working on Office for for both Android and iOS so this leak just confirms the rumor and hints that it may be ready soon. The free version is said to only allow users to view files while users who pay will get full editing rights. Unfortunately though, no dates have been revealed as to when Microsoft will launch the service, we hope it isn’t too far along the future and that the company will unveil it together with the Android version.
Will you use Office on your mobile devices or would you rather resort to free services such as Google Drive that gives you a better integration between desktop and mobile?
