Windows Phone 8 may be still be rather new but that doesn’t mean that it’s not getting the love. The team behind Whatsapp has recently made an announcement that the Whatsapp app for Windows Phone 8 will go live very soon and will be six times faster than before. Unfortunately though, the update will only focus on giving you a faster experience, the team will deliver another update at a later date with new emoji set. Not too long ago, the app made a quick appearance in the Windows Phone app store but was quickly removed.
As for Windows 8 and Windows RT users, rejoice because Dropbox will be coming your way really soon. All the while, users have been forced to use Microsoft’s own cloud service – SkyDrive – but let’s face it, even though some of you may have 25GB of cloud space for free, Dropbox provides a much better experience and is more widely supported throughout a range of devices and OS. The team behind Dropbox has already submitted the app and is pending approval from Microsoft.
Meanwhile, Sony Mobile has extended its offer of 50GB (free for life) storage on Box for Xperia owners. The offer was supposed to expire at the end of this year but now, all Xperia smartphones in 2012-2013 lineups are eligible for the offer; all you need to do is log into Box app for your Xperia device.
