As more markets throughout the globe are starting to receive Windows Phone 8 devices such as Windows Phone 8X and 8S by HTC together with Nokia Lumia 920 and 820, Microsoft is working hard to push its latest mobile OS into the spotlight.
However, the company hasn’t mention much about the Windows Phone 7.8 update which is meant for older Windows Phone 7 devices up until recently. If you are one of those consumers that own such devices, check this out – Microsoft has finally revealed that the update will be rolled out to “as many devices as possible” in early 2013. To us, it is generally a very vague piece of information but still better than nothing.
For those who are not familiar with Windows Phone 7.8, the update will not elevate the older Windows Phone devices on par with the newer Windows Phone 8-based smartphones mainly due to hardware limitations. On another hand, it will still bring together a number of features from Windows Phone 8 to those devices such as resizable Live Tiles, more options for personalization and additional lock screen features.
