Fresh from the Samsung Galaxy Note II Experience Zone, we had our hands on the brand new, Titanium Grey Galaxy Note II.
First things first, for a device with a screen as large as this, the Galaxy Note II is remarkably light. In our hands, it feels like it has been made from the same material as the flagship Galaxy SIII, which may not be a good idea. However, it feels very light but at the same time is thick enough to be comfortably held with one hand.

It may look large, but it will not strain a man’s hand to hold it with one hand. Women, on the other hand, may find it a tad uncomfortable to use over prolonged periods. The rounded corners does help with the grip, though.
The S Pen feels slightly smaller to the one on the Galaxy Note 10.1, but we could be wrong, given the brief time we’ve had with it. Regardless, it shares the same features as found on its tablet brother.
As the S Pen is what differentiates the Galaxy note from its predecessor, we had to try out the S Pen’s features implemented on the Galaxy Note II. First up, we fired the S Note app to try out its handwriting capabilities.
Interestingly, unlike what we experienced on the Galaxy Note 10.1, users’ palms resting on the screen may be registered on the app as input, which made things difficult. However, we couldn’t really put it to the test, as we had a very brief time with it.
