The just unveiled Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS is arguably Huawei’s most exciting limited edition phones yet. If you can’t wait you get your hands on this premium, luxurious device, you won’t have to wait long – it’s expected to arrive in Malaysia sometime in the middle of May 2018.
We’ve got this information based on an early press release of the Mate RS. It’s expected to be available on 12 April in China, Hong Kong, and Macau, followed by France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and Switzerland. For us in Malaysia, the limited edition Mate RS is expected to be available here in the middle of May 2018 alongside Singapore.
Unlike previous Porsche Design Huawei smartphones, the Mate RS comes with a couple of unique features that are exclusive to it. These include an in-screen fingerprint sensor and support for fast wireless charging. It also has a similar Leica triple-camera system with a 40MP sensor like the Huawei P20 Pro.
Other specifications of the Mate RS include a 6-inch 2K curved OLED display, a Huawei Kirin 970 chipset, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage – the latter is only available in China – dual SLS speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, as well as dust and water resistance.
Of course, there’s always a chance the Malaysian availability of the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS changes in the coming months. For now, at least, we know it will tentatively arrive on our shores sometime in May 2018.
