Recently, Samsung has unveiled the new Galaxy Tab A (2016), which is a follow-up to last year’s 8.0-inch and 9.3-inch models. If you’re in the market for an affordable tablet, Samsung’s latest offering may interest you.
Last year’s Galaxy Tab A lineup of tablets were not exactly high-end, and the 2016 model continues this trend, but with a slight twist. While the 2015 Tab A tablets were available in 8.0-inch and 9.3-inch models, the 2016 model is only available in one size: 7.0-inch, which makes it more portable than its predecessors.
As for specifications, don’t expect too much out of it: the 2016 Galaxy Tab A is packed with a 7.0-inch 1280 x 800 display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and thankfully, a microSD card slot. Rounding out the specifications are a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing shooter, Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and a 4,000mAh battery.
At the time of this writing, it remains to be seen if the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) will be available in Malaysia. That being said, it should arrive here eventually, seeing how the predecessors were launched here last year. While Samsung has yet to reveal the retail price of the 2016 Galaxy Tab A, some retailers are listing it at 169 euro, which comes up to about RM775.
