The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are launching at midnight, and the four major telcos have already announced their plans. Naturally, there will be several locations to go to get your hands on Apple’s latest smartphone and we have compiled the information for you to figure out where to be tonight.
Celcom
Celcom traditionally holds a midnight launch at the Blue Cube in Sunway Pyramid, with sales beginning promptly at 12am. The number of locations looks to be expanded this year, with four participating Blue Cubes across Malaysia. As usual, customers visiting Celcom’s launch can expect lucky draws and other freebies after the doors officially open. Celcom will also be offering a trade in programme for older iPhones this year, with the phones being valued up to RM1, 900 depending on the model.
Celcom has not yet publicly revealed any iPhone 6s or 6s Plus plans, and subscribers will likely have to find out more later tonight. The participating Celcom Blue Cube stores launching the new iPhone tonight are:
- Blue Cube@Sunway Pyramid
- Blue Cube Publika
- Celcom Centre Taman Molek, Johor Bahru
- Blue Cube Elit Avenue Bayan Baru, Penang
Digi
The Digi launch events begin at 10pm tonight, although this is probably a few hours too late for Apple fans. Digi has six stores holding events across the country, and are offering a RM200 rebate for pre-ordering the new iPhone and signing up with the Digi SmartPlan 98. Digi is also offering an additional rebate for customers who are porting out of their existing telco, although the value depends on the chosen Digi postpaid plan. The Digi stores to be at are:
- SS2, Petaling Jaya
- Kuantan, Pahang
- Pulau Tikus, Penang
- Danga Bay, Johor
- Kuching, Sarawak
- Api Api, Sabah.
Maxis
Unlike the other telcos, Maxis is not holding a specific launch event for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Instead, customers who have pre-ordered their devices will be able to pick it up from over 40 Maxis stores nationwide. These stores will be open at midnight, and Maxis is guaranteeing that there will be sufficient stock at all of its stores.. Customers will also be able to opt for the Maxis 24 Hour Express Delivery and specify where they want their iPhone dropped off.
Maxis is also offering an iPhone stock checking app called RealView for those who have missed the pre-order. This will allow them to check on the on-hand stock of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus at all Maxis stores. The information will be updated hourly, and is intended to be used after the pre-order period is over.
Now, while there are some 40 Maxis stores from which to collect the new iPhone; most of them are not open until 7am tomorrow. Instead, there are only three locations for pre-order customers to obtain their devices at midnight:
- Maxis Centre KLCC
- Maxis Centre JB Danga Bay, Johor
- Maxis Centre All Seasons Place, Penang

U Mobile
U Mobile is holding its only midnight party in Berjaya Times Square in KL. The queue starts at 6pm today, but potential customers should try to get there early. U Mobile is promising mystery gifts for the first 300 customers who buy the new iPhone and install the MyUMobile app. Additional financing options are available for those who want to upgrade but cannot afford to pay a lump sum; there is also a trade in scheme for those upgrading from an older device.
